Dragon Slayer Rhea

In Concert

This is something I did for my Portfolio.

SOD and a rainy night.

Serious rainy day here in GA. and it has the mood behind it too. You know the one I am talking about. The rain has that wow that looks great and it's rhythm is just right. Yet you have no desire to go out in it. It's a stay on the couch, wine, or beer, a few friends, if ya have them and if they want to go out in the rain, and you chill, listen to Marley and enjoy life.

Or your stuck outside it this and you are utterly miserable. Soaked to the bone, can't find a dry spot on ya, your smokes are floating in the new pond in the pack. Yah it's that kinda day. Tried to capture some essence of it, and I think I did with Rainy Night.

Rainy Night

Panel 2

Told you it would get better, and maybe slightly more disturbing.
Always wanted to do a slave Leia drawing, just never figured that this would be the way it would happen.

Deodatos poweful hulk piece

Tried to speed color this, while at the same time trying to keep the colors simple. I didn't want to take away from the power of the lines with flashy colors.

Panel 1 to the new panel a day story

Something I saw skottie Young doing over on his blog. I dug it and so in another attempt to keep the hand moving and the juices flowing, I am taking that idea and adding it to my daily workload.

Starting of slow, but I have it on good authority that business will pick up.

Red Monika

First colors of the new year. OK well it was started last year. Finally got the coloring bug back so I decided I needed to finish this sucka up.

Red Monika WIP

So this is the piece that I have been working on for the last 2 days. Not nearly finished, but I am having shoulder surgery in the morning so i wanted to share something since I won't be coloring for awhile.

Colors by me

Had alot of fun with this one. Tried a couple of new things. And just let it ride. Its always great when you just let go and have fun with a project, especially when you put aside trying to make it look perfect. In fact many times thats when the best work shows itself.

Anyway here he is in all of his green glory.

Supergirl

Lines by Randy Green
Colors by the van man....that would be me.

Been a while since i did any coloring, so i felt a little rusty through the whole piece. Especially with the hair.
But with that said it felt good to be coloring again. Took way too long of a break from it.   I really tried to focus on color selection with this piece. Instead of just coloring i tried to learn and grow as a colorist. so we'll see.

Multi Tasking

I am gonna have shoulder surgery on my left shoulder, yes I am left handed, in two weeks. I think I am getting ready for two to four weeks of inactivity. Today my time was split between working on laying some colors on a  sweet Supergirl pic drawn by Randy Green, and starting work on a 6 inch Orc warrior bust made from Super Sculpy.

While I love the productivity being forced out of me, I am not looking forward to this surgery. Nor am I looking forward to the weeks of not being able to do anything. The only bonus is that I will be in-between classes, so at least school won't suffer from this.

Oh well.

Supergirl should be posted Thursday, and hopefully the orc will be done early next week.

Spiderman

After doing nothing creative for a week due to family and work issues I decided to give this a go.

It looked simple enough at first, but as I was laying down the flats I realized there was a lot of small details in this mother.

Hope ya'll like it

After spending alot of time studying different techniques and methods, my brain overloaded. So it took a long time to really get rolling on this one. As always I'm not overly happy with it, but it is finished and its not too bad.
